The objective of reducing the prevalence and spread of HIV/AIDS within the community would have to involve the youth at both the level of increased awareness and through their empowerment. The SAN project was launched to engage the youth through various initiatives including peer education and reproductive health awareness strategies; and empowerment programs targeted at increasing their income levels.
