History

Siaya Chicken Value Chain Cooperative Society Limited was founded in 2021 in Siaya County, Gem Sub-county to address key challenges faced by small-scale poultry farmers, such as poor market access, price volatility, and limited production resources. Registered on 21st August 2021 under the State Department of Cooperatives (Registration No. CS/26234), the cooperative started with a vision of empowering poultry farmers through collective marketing, branding, and provision of affordable inputs.

Since its inception, SCVCCSL has grown to a membership of 225 farmers (128 men, 97 women, and 53 youth), focusing on products such as fertilized eggs, hatching services, day-old chicks (DOCs), grower birds, and mature table birds.

Beyond business, the cooperative has also become a community platform, offering training, capacity building, and fair pricing, while securing reliable markets with hotels, schools, caterers, and restaurants.

What We Do

We supply fertilized eggs, giving farmers and hatcheries a reliable source for quality breeding stock.

Our hatching services ensure farmers get healthy chicks through efficient and professional incubation.

We provide day-old chicks (DOCs) to farmers, offering a strong start for poultry rearing.

We raise and supply grower birds, at both one and two months old, to support farmers who prefer semi-mature birds.

Finally, we sell mature table birds, ready for consumption and direct sale to households, hotels, and restaurants.
