About Us

Community Driven
North Gem Community Development Programme is a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) founded in 2012 in Siaya County, Kenya. Rooted in Christian values and driven by compassion, we work to empower individuals and transform communities through sustainable development initiatives. Over the years, we have partnered with stakeholders such as Dorcas Aid International Kenya, The County government of Siaya , Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and Maji Milele to implement life-changing projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Livelihoods, and Child Development.
Our work has reached over 141,358 people with access to safe water, supported over 92,000 in achieving improved sanitation, and created more than 225 jobs across various sectors. Through targeted agricultural and economic projects, we’ve trained and supported over 3,9850 farmers and supported 1,250 individuals in the poultry value chain. In health, we’ve sensitized over 22,000 individuals on HIV prevention and supported 600 people living with HIV, while ensuring 290 vulnerable children stay in school.
Vision & Aspiration
We aspire to build a resilient, empowered, and self-sustaining community where no one is left behind. Guided by Christian values and the spirit of love, we envision a society where families have access to clean water, children grow in safe and supportive environments, and every household has the opportunity to thrive economically and socially.
Our aspirations go beyond meeting immediate needs—we aim to lay the foundation for lasting transformation. We seek to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and scale up innovative, community-driven solutions in water, health, livelihoods, and child development. By investing in people, strengthening local systems, and building partnerships, we are committed to shaping a future where dignity, opportunity, and hope are accessible to all. At North Gem, we believe that when communities are empowered, true and lasting change is possible.

Testimonials
★★★★★
“Before North Gem came to our village, I relied on casual labor to feed my children. Through their poultry project, I was trained, given chicks, and learned how to run a small business. Today, I supply eggs to a local market and can afford school fees and basic needs. My dignity has been restored, and my children no longer go hungry.”
★★★★★
” I was at risk of dropping out of school because of financial struggles at home. North Gem, through the Future for Children program, provided school support, mentorship, and life skills. Now, I am confident, focused, and dream of becoming a teacher to give back to my community. A chance for one is a chance for All”
